We're xait'd to announce that we have just been added to Unity's Asia Bootcamp Tour. The tour is headed to 3 cities - Seoul (April 9-10), Tokyo (April 12-13) and Beijing (April 14-15) - over the course of six days.
In addition to recently launching our plug-ins for Unity, we have been hard at work making our full AI software even better. Today we have released xaitControl 3.7 and an upgrade to xaitMap 3.0. To find out all that was included in these new upgrades, head over to our Support Section.
While browsing the interwebs today we stumbled upon this nugget of an article on the convergence of robotics and video game pathfinding and AI. This article does a brilliant job of comparing the similarities and differences between AI as it applies to robotics applications and video games. Here at xaitment we try and take that approach with our own pathfinding product: xaitMap. In the same way this article provides a clearer picture of those similarities and differences, we strive to provide a visual solution to pathfinding with an easy to use graphical user interface. Keen to hear more about xaitment's plans for the future, and it's vision for the evolution of AI, Will Freeman, DEVELOP Magazine's editor, caught up with xaitment's new CEO and managing director Mike Walsh. Here is a quote from the interview:
"Let me be a little bit bold here. The sky is really the limit. With AI Right now people are interested in pathfinding, but I think there are so many other applications for AI. What we’re talking about is something that, to my knowledge nobody else in the industry is doing, and that’s character behaviours."
