Saarbruecken, Germany – August 22, 2007 – xaitment GmbH, one of the leading AI developers for games and simulations, today announced that they have opened an office in San Rafael, CA in order to position themselves closer to their US customer base. In addition, they have hired game technology veteran Katja Reitemeyer as the CEO of the new office.

Founded in 2004, xaitment engineers lifelike Artificial Intelligence (AI) for computer games and simulations. A spin-off of the world renowned German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), xaitment has enjoyed early successes in Europe. Recognizing the greater potential of the U.S. game market, they have now opened their doors in San Rafael, CA. and named industry veteran, Katja Reitemeyer, as head of U.S. operations.

A native of Germany, Katja began her career as a producer for a German games production company. She then moved to the Santa Monica, CA to establish NXN’s sales operations in the U.S. In 2004, Avid Technologies acquired NXN Software, and Katja became Manager of Americas Sales for the Alienbrain product line. Katja has now joined xaitment as the CEO for xaitment, Inc.

“The U.S. represents a great opportunity for xaitment,” said Dr. Andreas Gerber, xaitment’s Group-CEO, “and Katja is the ideal person for helping us take advantage of its potential. She possesses a thorough understanding of the game development process and has built great relationships with many of the key players in the industry.
